WHY JOIN THE SUMMIT?

The International Biomanufacturing Summit 2025 will serve as a premier platform to exchange knowledge among scientists and industry leaders, deliberating on global innovations in biomanufacturing technologies. Leaders from manufacturing industries will engage in critical discussions to address current opportunities and challenges in the field, aiming to attract investments, stimulate economic growth, and generate job opportunities in Northeast India. The summit will also provide a platform for discussing regulatory challenges and policy frameworks to ensure innovations are safely and effectively commercialized and intelligently integrated into the market.

Our Mission

We seek to establish an ecosystem that provides access to expert partners and mentorship to encourage entrepreneurship. We plan to collaborate closely with entrepreneurs, offering guidance on securing non-dilutive funding from government sources. Additionally, we aim to work with policymakers to stay informed about industry trends and implement changes that foster an environment conducive to rapid growth.

Our Vision

We aspire to transform Northeast India into a powerhouse of biotechnology innovation, fostering a thriving environment for biotech startups and nationally recognized companies. Our goal is to rank Northeast India among the top three regions in the country for launching biotech ventures. We envision a future where everyone can actively contribute their skills and knowledge regardless of location to build a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable society.

THE VENUE

Gauhati University is one of the premier institutions of higher education in northeast India. Incorporated by an Act of 1947, the university started functioning on 26 January, 1948 as an affiliating, teaching, and residential university with renowned scholar K.K. Handique as the first Vice-Chancellor. It is a NAAC A+ institution. Starting with 18 affiliated colleges and 8 post graduate departments in 1948, Gauhati University has 45 post graduate departments, besides IDOL (Institute of Distance and Open Learning), GUIST (Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology), and a constituent Law College. It has more than 300 affiliated colleges offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the faculty of arts, science, commerce, law, technology, and engineering. Being the oldest and the largest university in the entire northeast, the university represents the academic and cultural background of the region.

THE CITY

Guwahati, the largest city in the Indian state of Assam, is a vibrant cultural and economic hub nestled along the banks of the river Brahmaputra. Known as the ‘Gateway to Northeast India’, it is famous for its rich history, ancient temples like the Kamakhya Temple, and bustling markets. Guwahati serves as a key center for education, commerce, and tourism in the region, blending traditional Assamese culture with modern urban development. The city’s natural beauty characterized by nearby hills and rivers, adds to its unique charm. In January, Guwahati experiences mild and pleasant weather. The average daytime temperatures typically range from 14°C to 26°C, making it a comfortable time for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Nights can be cooler, occasionally dropping to around 12°C.

SUMMIT THEME: BIOMANUFACTURING

Biomanufacturing is one of the most intriguing technologies on the rise, mainly because it is driving incredible technological advancements today. Some of the most nature-based, energy-intensive, elemental processes we know, such as fermentation, enzymes, and microorganisms, are redesigned with biomanufacturing. As the global biotechnological industry continues to develop and evolve, much effort has been put into improving life-saving products’ quality, efficacy, cost, and compliance. New-age therapies are on the brink of becoming the next primary sector the biotechnological industry has ever seen. It is about time we made important decisions and contributed to shaping this new range of groundbreaking advancements.

The 1st International Biomanufacturing Summit 2025 is set to be one of the first conferences of its kind. This Summit is designed to bring together people from different fields and provide them with current trends, strategic insights, and, more importantly, best practices in biomanufacturing.

Other themes in the conferences
